The 2026 Robot Data Report: What 163 Robots Reveal About Price, Hype, and Real Capability

Roboclan tracks 163 robots across six categories: 44 robot vacuums, 20 robot lawn mowers, 26 pool cleaners, 16 humanoids, 28 quadrupeds, and 29 commercial and industrial machines from 19 brands. Every figure in our database comes from official manufacturer specifications, normalized to the same units and scored on a category-specific framework. We do not accept payment for placements or ratings, and we do not use review samples, so the data reflects what makers actually publish, not what they lend out.
This report steps back from individual models to look at what the full dataset says. Here is what 163 robots reveal in 2026. Journalists and researchers are welcome to cite any of these findings with a link to Roboclan.

One number before we get to the findings: 73 of the 163 robots we track, or 45 percent, have no public price at all. You can buy a $269.99 robot vacuum online in two minutes, but you cannot get a price on a single humanoid without talking to a sales team.
Finding 1: The Most Expensive Robot Vacuum Is Not the Best One
The priciest vacuum in our index is the Roborock Saros Z70 at $2,599.99, and its Roboclan Score of 3.6 puts it in the middle of the 44-model field. The top score, 4.8, belongs to the Dreame X60 Max Ultra at $1,699.99, while the Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 earns a 4.2 at $569.99, less than a quarter of the Z70's price. Finding 2: A $429 Pool Cleaner Out-Suctions the $3,999 Flagship
The Beatbot AquaSense X is the most expensive pool cleaner we track at $3,999, rated at 6,800 gph. The Dreame Z1 Pro costs $429 and is rated at 8,000 gph, 18 percent more suction. The strongest suction in the category, 8,500 gph, comes from Aiper models at $1,799.99 and $2,299.99, still well below the Beatbot's price.
Filtration shows the opposite split. Aiper and Ecovacs filter down to 3 microns, while Beatbot's baskets are rated at 150 to 250 microns, a difference of 50 to 83 times in particle size. In other words, the budget and mid-priced brands compete on raw pump and filter numbers, while the category's price leader invests in docks, self-cleaning stations, and water care. Neither approach is wrong, but buyers comparing spec sheets should know which one they are paying for. The highest Value score in the category belongs to the $315 Ecovacs Ultramarine P1. Finding 3: Small Yards Pay up to 4 Times More per Acre
Divide each mower's list price by its rated coverage and a clear pattern emerges: capacity scales faster than price. The entry-level Segway Navimow i105 covers 0.125 acres for $999, which works out to about $7,992 per acre of capacity. The Lymow One Plus 10A covers 1.73 acres for $3,199, or about $1,849 per acre. The same trend appears inside a single lineup: Mammotion's LUBA 3 AWD 1500 costs roughly $6,484 per acre while the LUBA 3 AWD 5000 costs $2,639.
Buyers with small yards pay a steep premium for compact size. The good news for them is that capability keeps climbing at the top: the Lymow One Plus handles 100 percent slopes (a 45-degree incline), the steepest rating in our index, while entry models top out at 30 percent. Finding 4: Humanoid Walking Speed Has Plateaued. Quadruped Speed Has Not
Every humanoid in our index walks between 1.8 mph (the AgiBot A2 LITE) and 4.5 mph (the Unitree G1), a spread of only 2.5 times. Bipedal walking pace has effectively converged. Quadrupeds tell a different story: they span 2.7 mph (the Unitree B1) to 20.1 mph (the DEEP Robotics LYNX M20S, in lab conditions), a spread of more than seven times.
And here is the twist: the fastest machine in the quadruped category is not purely legged. The LYNX M20S is a wheeled-leg design that rolls on flat ground and walks over obstacles. The fastest purely legged machine, the Unitree B2, tops out above 13.4 mph. Wheels are quietly winning the speed race that legs started. Finding 5: "Standing Payload" Overstates Real Capability by 3 to 4 Times
The most misread spec in legged robotics is payload. The Unitree B2 is quoted at 88.2 lb walking but 264.6 lb standing, a threefold gap. The Unitree A2 is 55.1 lb walking versus 220.5 lb standing, and the Unitree B1 is 44.1 versus 176.4, both fourfold gaps. Standing payload describes a robot holding still; the walking figure is what it can carry while working. Any comparison that uses the standing number overstates real capability by a factor of three or more, which is why our specs always lead with the walking figure.
Finding 6: The Robots That Work All Day Are Not the Ones That Walk
Battery life is the binding constraint on legged robots, and it has barely moved. Across all 16 humanoids, runtime spans roughly 1 hour (the Unitree R1 family) to about 4 hours (the LimX Luna), with most clustered between 1.5 and 3 hours. Quadrupeds do a little better, topping out around 5 to 6 hours.
Now look at the commercial category. Wheeled delivery and cleaning robots routinely run 9 to 18 hours: the KEENON DINERBOT T9 is rated up to 18 hours, the T8 up to 15, and PUDU's PuduBot 2 runs 15 hours unladen. That is four to five times the endurance of the best humanoid. The machines actually working full shifts in restaurants, hotels, and warehouses today share one design decision: they roll. Hot-swappable batteries, now standard on industrial quadrupeds like the LYNX M20S and AgiBot D1 MAX, are the legged industry's admission that charging breaks are the real productivity killer.
Finding 7: Onboard Compute Separates Demos From Workers
The compute gap inside the humanoid category is enormous. Entry models from LimX and AgiBot run on RK3588-class chips with single-digit TOPS, while the Unitree H2 Plus carries an NVIDIA Jetson T5000 rated at 2,070 TFLOPS, a gap of several orders of magnitude. The robots that can run modern vision-language-action models onboard, rather than streaming to an external computer, are a small subset at the top of the market. More than any mechanical spec, compute is what currently separates a research demo from an autonomous worker.
There is a similar split in degrees of freedom. The LimX Oli Super leads all humanoids with 43 DOF but has no dexterous hands. The Unitree H2 Plus reports 75 DOF, of which 44 live in its two 22-DOF hands, exactly where manipulation happens. A high joint count with no hands overstates dexterity; where the joints sit matters more than how many there are. Methodology
All figures in this report reflect Roboclan's database as of August 2026 and are drawn from published manufacturer specifications. We normalize every spec to US units (mph, lb, inches, degrees Fahrenheit) and score each robot on a category-specific framework. Consumer categories (vacuums, mowers, pool cleaners) carry a 0 to 5 Roboclan Score that includes a Value axis frozen at launch MSRP. Humanoids, quadrupeds, and commercial machines carry no overall score and no value axis, because they are sold by quote rather than at public prices; inventing a value number would mean inventing a price. Where a maker distinguishes lab from sustained figures, we note it. Where official data is missing, we mark it rather than estimate.
