Humanoid Robots Compared (2026): Specs, Capabilities and Who They Are For

Humanoid robots are everywhere in the news and almost nowhere in comparable form. Each manufacturer publishes its own spec sheet, in its own units, highlighting whatever it happens to lead on — which makes it nearly impossible to answer a simple question like "which one actually carries more?" We put every humanoid we track on the same four axes, using official manufacturer specifications, so you can compare them side by side. Here's what the data shows in 2026.

How We Compare Humanoids

We rate humanoids on four capability axes, each 1–5: degrees of freedom (how many independently controlled joints, a rough proxy for dexterity), payload (what the arms can actually carry), battery life, and speed.

Two honest notes about what we don't do here. First, we publish no overall score for humanoids. Our consumer categories get a single Roboclan Score because they have public prices and a value axis; humanoids are sold by quote, so scoring "value" would mean inventing a price. Second, none of these robots has a public list price — every one is "contact sales." We report that plainly rather than guessing.

The Standouts by Capability

Most degrees of freedom: LimX Oli Super (43 DOF)

The LimX Oli Super leads on raw joint count with 43 total degrees of freedom (7 per arm, 6 per leg), backed by 250 N·m joint torque and a 13.2 lb per-arm payload — the strongest per-arm figure of any non-Unitree platform here. At 68.9 inches and under 132 lb, it's a full-size platform. The trade-off is endurance: roughly 1.5 hours of battery life.

Close behind, the AgiBot A2 Ultra offers 40 DOF with a 6-DOF dexterous hand, 270 N·m knee peak torque and NVIDIA Jetson Orin 64G compute.

Strongest arms: Unitree H2 and H2 Plus (15.4 lb rated per arm)

The Unitree H2 family carries the most: about 15.4 lb rated per arm and up to 33.1 lb peak, with 360 N·m leg joint torque. At 6 feet and roughly 154 lb, it's the most physically imposing platform we track, with about 3 hours of battery.

The H2 Plus is the same body with a serious upgrade where it matters most for manipulation: dual SharpaWave five-finger hands at 22 DOF each (75 DOF total on the robot), 1,000 tactile pixels per fingertip, and 0.005 N sensitivity. Compute jumps to an NVIDIA Jetson T5000 at 2,070 TFLOPS with Isaac GR00T support. If your application is real-world grasping and manipulation rather than locomotion demos, this is the most capable machine here.

Longest battery: LimX Luna (about 4 hours)

Endurance is the quiet constraint on every humanoid deployment, and the LimX Luna leads it with roughly 4 hours — more than double some rivals. More usefully, it uses dual slide-out batteries you can hot-swap rather than waiting on a charge cycle. For continuous operation, that design choice matters more than the raw number.

Fastest: Unitree G1 and G1 EDU (4.5 mph)

The Unitree G1 tops the speed axis at 4.5 mph. It's a compact 4.3 ft, 77 lb platform with 23 DOF, Livox Mid-360 3D LiDAR and an Intel RealSense D435i depth camera — a well-sensored robot for its size.

Best for research and development: Unitree G1 EDU

If you're buying for a lab, the G1 EDU is the version to look at rather than the base G1. It scales from 23 to 43 DOF depending on options, raises payload to about 6.6 lb and knee torque to 120 N·m, adds the optional Dex3-1 three-finger force-control hand with tactile sensing, allows an optional Jetson Orin module, and — importantly — explicitly supports secondary development. It also ships with an 18-month warranty against the base model's 8 months, which tells you who it's built for.

Lightest entry point: Unitree R1 (63.9 lb)

The Unitree R1 is the smallest and lightest here at 4 ft and about 64 lb, with 26 DOF. Its constraint is stated plainly in the specs: roughly 1 hour of battery. It's a platform for learning and short demonstrations, not sustained work.

The Three Brands, Briefly

Unitree fields the broadest lineup, from the compact R1 through the G1 to the full-size H2 family, and is the only maker here offering a factory dexterous-hand option at the H2 Plus level. LimX competes on mechanical specification — the highest joint count (Oli Super) and the longest, swappable battery (Luna). AgiBot sits between them, pairing high DOF counts with strong onboard compute (Jetson Orin across the Ultra models).

What Actually Matters When You Evaluate One

Degrees of freedom is not the same as capability. A 43-DOF robot with no dexterous hands may be less useful for manipulation than a 31-DOF robot with 22-DOF hands and tactile fingertips. Look at where the joints are, not just how many there are.

Battery life is usually the real constraint. The spread here runs from about 1 hour to about 4. If the robot is meant to work rather than demonstrate, endurance and whether batteries hot-swap will shape your deployment more than top speed.

Compute and software ecosystem decide how fast you ship. Platforms with Jetson Orin or Thor-class compute and support for stacks like NVIDIA Isaac give development teams a much shorter path than a robot with a general-purpose CPU alone.

Check the warranty and whether secondary development is supported. The gap between a consumer-facing unit and an EDU variant is often not the hardware but the support terms and the openness of the platform.
